A river runs through it
Why you should go there: The Rheinquellenregion (source of the river rhine) around Disentis Muster and Sedrun has invested heavily in the last years to put itself on the map of mountainbiking destinations. It offers a nice mix of alpine single trails and machine buillt biking infrastructure made accesible by trains, busses and cable cars. The region allows discovering less known trails in the beautiful “Surselva” region between Andermatt and the Oberalppass, Lukmanierpass and Trun.
Who is it for: Good to advanced bikers who enjoy riding alpine single trails and discover new destinations will enjoy their days in the region. Families and beginners can also spend some fun hours in the skills park and on the purpose built flow trail. If you like smaller and more quiet destinations, the Rheinquellenregion is worth a look.
Who should avoid it: If you are looking for bikepark trails and a busy biking destination with all amenities you might be disappointed. Despite the shuttle options the region aims more at All-Mountain- and Endurobikers who are not shy of pedalling or pushing their bikes to some of the best trails.
Trails
Families and beginners in mountainbiking should start discovering the region at the Catrina Skills Park and the Catrina Flow Trail at the Caischavedra gondola.
Tour and All-Mountain bikers, who are looking to explore the region on more natural only lightly adapted trails, try our Pass Tiarms loop.
Our Disentis Enduro loop combines some challenging trails of the region connected by cable cars. Maighelspass and Lag Serein offer fantastic days on trails for fit- and technically good riders.
Explorers can discover more trails in the valleys south of the Surselva and the Lukmanierpass area.
